About The Position

Cadrex is seeking CNC Machinists at Levels I, II, and III to support precision manufacturing operations through the setup, operation, programming, maintenance, and optimization of CNC machinery. CNC Machinists play a critical role in producing high-quality components that meet engineering specifications, quality standards, and production requirements. The level of responsibility, technical expertise, and independence increases with experience and demonstrated proficiency.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Technical training or machining certification preferred
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and machine operation
  • Ability to use measuring instruments and inspection equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and work instructions
  • Basic computer skills
  • Strong attention to detail and quality
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrated initiative, dependability, and positive attendance record
  • 2+ years of CNC machining experience
  • Ability to perform machine setups and process adjustments with minimal supervision
  • Proficiency with measuring equipment and quality inspection techniques
  • Ability to troubleshoot machining and quality issues
  • Strong blueprint reading skills
  • Experience using manufacturing software and production documentation systems
  • Ability to operate hand tools, machine tools, and production equipment safely and effectively
  • Strong problem-solving skills and commitment to continuous improvement
  • 4+ years of CNC machining experience with complex machining applications
  • Advanced knowledge of CNC programming, including G-code and CAM software
  • Experience with multiple CNC machine platforms and control systems
  • Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis capabilities
  • Expertise in blueprint interpretation, GD&T, and precision measurement techniques
  • Demonstrated experience optimizing machining processes and improving efficiency
  • Strong leadership, communication, and mentoring skills
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and operational excellence
  • Technical certification, machining degree, apprenticeship, or equivalent work experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Operate CNC machines to manufacture components and assemblies according to engineering drawings, specifications, and quality requirements
  • Read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and technical documents
  • Perform in-process and final inspections using precision measuring tools including calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other inspection equipment
  • Monitor machine performance and machining processes to ensure quality and productivity standards are achieved
  • Perform tool changes, offsets, and machine adjustments as required
  • Maintain accurate production documentation including part counts, machine logs, and quality records
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance quality, efficiency, and productivity
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, engineers, programmers, and production team members
  • Produce high-quality products according to required specifications while meeting production goals
  • Set up CNC machines by loading tools, fixtures, and materials for production jobs
  • Learn and apply CNC machining principles under the guidance of experienced machinists
  • Perform routine machine operation and basic machine adjustments
  • Conduct basic quality inspections and report nonconforming conditions
  • Assist with machine cleaning, lubrication, and preventative maintenance activities
  • Report machine malfunctions, tooling concerns, or quality issues to supervision
  • Develop CNC machining knowledge and skills through on-the-job training
  • Perform machine setups and changeovers with minimal supervision
  • Make tooling adjustments, offsets, and program modifications based on production requirements
  • Troubleshoot machine performance issues and quality concerns
  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance activities on CNC equipment
  • Analyze machining processes and recommend improvements to increase efficiency and quality
  • Collaborate with programming and engineering teams to resolve manufacturing issues
  • Support training and mentoring of less experienced machinists as needed
  • Develop, modify, troubleshoot, and optimize CNC programs using G-code and CAM software
  • Perform advanced machine setups and support complex machining operations
  • Lead troubleshooting efforts related to machining processes, tooling, programming, and equipment performance
  • Optimize cycle times, tooling strategies, and machining methods to improve operational efficiency
  • Manage tool life monitoring programs and advanced tooling applications
  • Partner with engineering, programming, and production teams to implement process improvements
  • Serve as a technical resource and mentor for Level I and Level II machinists
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, productivity, and machine utilization
