CADREX - CNC Machinist (All Levels - 1st and 2nd Shift)

Cadrex Manufacturing Solutions•Agawam, MA
•Onsite

About The Position

Cadrex is hiring CNC Machinists at Level I, II, or III to operate, set up, maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize CNC machines that produce precision components to engineering specifications. Candidates are aligned to a level based on their experience, technical knowledge, and skills. The role supports quality, efficient, on-time production and a safe, collaborative manufacturing environment. This is an onsite position in Agawam, Massachusetts, with availability for first- and second-shift work. Level I machinists operate machines already set up and approved for production, load materials, monitor cycles, perform basic inspections and maintenance, and learn machining processes and blueprint interpretation. Level II machinists independently set up machines, make tool and offset adjustments, troubleshoot issues, perform inspections and maintenance, and maintain production flow with minimal supervision. Level III machinists handle complex setups across multiple platforms, develop and troubleshoot CNC programs, optimize processes, manage tooling strategies, resolve advanced issues, and mentor less experienced machinists. The work environment includes frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts and vibration, occasional risk of electrical shock, and noise that is usually moderate and occasionally loud. The role regularly involves standing, sitting, using hands and fingers, handling or feeling, and talking or hearing. Occasional activities include climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling, and lifting or moving up to 25 pounds. A high school diploma is required; a two-year technical certification or equivalent experience is preferred.

  • Level II: Strong blueprint interpretation and precision measuring equipment skills; ability to work independently with minimal supervision; problem-solving skills and attention to detail; and experience maintaining production quality and throughput.
  • Level III: 3 or more years of CNC machining experience with complex machining operations and strong setup experience across multiple CNC platforms.
  • Level III: Experience with mills, VTLs, Swiss machines, and/or other CNC equipment; basic CNC programming capability, including G-code editing and troubleshooting.
  • Level III: Advanced troubleshooting skills and strong understanding of tooling strategies, offsets, and process optimization.
  • Level III: Ability to interpret complex technical drawings and engineering specifications and experience improving machining processes, cycle times, and efficiency.
  • Level III: Strong communication skills and ability to train and mentor machinists; commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
  • High school diploma.
  • Regularly stand, sit, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, and talk or hear; occasionally climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and lift or move up to 25 pounds.
