About The Position

Digital Tool and Die is an established tool and die shop in Grandville, Michigan, specializing in designing and fabricating sheet metal stamping dies, roll forming, fixtures, fabrication, and special applications for the automotive, furniture, prototyping, appliance, and U.S. Military industries. The CNC Machinist sets up, operates, and maintains CNC machining equipment, follows machine setup instructions, and works with the CNC manager and programmers to prevent mistakes and maximize efficiency. The role requires precision measuring to ensure finished parts meet repeatable accuracy standards. This is a first-shift position. The listed schedule is Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Saturday, 6:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

Requirements

Familiarity with basic operation of vertical and horizontal CNC equipment.
Familiarity with proper use of taps, endmills, and other machine cutting tools.
Ability to safely operate forklifts and overhead cranes.
Proficiency with precision measuring instruments.
Thorough attention to detail and accuracy.
Dependability, a strong work ethic, and ability to collaborate as a team member.
Good housekeeping skills.

Responsibilities

Set up, operate, and maintain CNC machining equipment.
Follow machine setup instructions defining the required tooling, work holding, and critical part requirements.
Communicate with the CNC manager and programmers to avoid mistakes and maximize efficiencies.
Use precision measuring instruments to ensure repeatable accuracy of finished parts.
Safely operate forklifts and overhead cranes.
