About The Position

Vestcom, an Avery Dennison Company, is seeking a CNC Machinist who acts as a "Technical Pilot" with a "zero-defect" mindset and a deep curiosity for how things work. This role offers autonomy to own your workstation and support to grow technical skills. The position involves setting up and operating CNC Lathes and Vertical Machining Centers to create complex, high-tolerance parts, troubleshooting issues using machine manuals and diagnostic skills, and interpreting complex blueprints. The role also includes performing light maintenance and cleaning on equipment, and collaborating with team members and supporting plant-wide facility projects.

Requirements

High School Diploma/GED required.
3-5 years of hands-on CNC experience or equivalent training.
Proficiency with precision measuring instruments and hand/power tools.
Basic computer skills (Outlook, Word, Excel).
Ability to stand for 75% of the shift, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in a loud manufacturing environment with appropriate PPE.
Proactive professional who works well under minimal supervision.
Values Accountability and Curiosity, always looking for ways to improve a process rather than just finishing a task.

Nice To Haves

A Technical Certificate or Associate’s Degree in CNC Machining is highly preferred.
Familiarity or working knowledge of G-code is a significant advantage.

Responsibilities

Set up and operate CNC Lathes and Vertical Machining Centers to create complex, high-tolerance parts.
Use machine manuals, meters, and diagnostic skills to identify and fix issues.
Read and interpret complex blueprints to manufacture profiles involving radiuses, angles, and varied tangent points.
Perform light maintenance and cleaning on equipment to ensure peak performance and a safe environment.
Support plant-wide facility projects and assist team members across the shop as needed.
