About The Position

The 1st Tubewinder Operator sets up and operates the production line to produce product that meets quality specifications. The role maintains machine systems, makes necessary adjustments, and troubleshoots common machine and quality problems. The position is in Packaging Operations in LaGrange, Georgia, and is scheduled Monday through Thursday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Requirements

Ability to lift 35–45 lbs.
Ability to stand for ten hours, or twelve hours during the busy season.
Ability to walk up and down steps.
Ability to work overtime when needed.

Responsibilities

Set up the machine and complete initial thread-up, including knife setup and changing paper.
Monitor the process and correct jams and other problems.
Prepare the quality check sheet and read a tape measure.
Maintain line cleanliness and orderliness to GMP standards by removing paper, trash, dust, and debris.
Shut down equipment at the end of the shift, daily, and on weekends.
Troubleshoot minor quality and machine problems and communicate more complex problems to maintenance.
Understand and monitor the glue system to prevent spills.
Complete changeovers as required to meet production demands.
Change core knives when necessary.
Operate a forklift to replenish rolls of core paper if needed.
Transport full cartons of cores to the designated storage or production area if necessary.
Perform other duties as requested or required.
