About The Position

Set up and operate an individual CNC machine tool or several machine tools organized in a work group or cell. The role works with ferrous and non-ferrous metals and uses standard machine equipment, measuring instruments, blueprints, and process documents. The position receives assignments and instructions from an assigned supervisor.

Requirements

Three to five years of experience operating CNC and/or equivalent machinery.
Ability to read and understand blueprints and engineering requirements.
Ability to use inspection measuring devices.
Strong attention to detail.
Ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods and move about the facility.
Well-organized and able to self-manage tasks through completion.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma (preferred).
Experience programming at the machine.

Responsibilities

Set up and operate CNC machine tools according to standard work instructions and machine requirements.
Establish reference points and set offsets; preset tools when required.
Conduct trial runs or prove out program tapes as required.
Perform machining work to the indicated tolerances.
Operate two machines simultaneously when required, and perform related duties such as deburring, checking work, or presetting tools during machine cycles.
Maintain standard work files, program files, fixtures, and tooling.
Keep machines clean and perform daily routine maintenance checks.
Handle medium-weight materials by hand and heavier materials using a hoist or crane.
