CNC Machine Operator
About The Position
The CNC Machine Operator will be responsible for operating CNC lathes, mills, and other machining equipment. This role requires the ability to set up machines according to work instructions, blueprints, and specifications, and to monitor machine operations to ensure quality and efficiency. The operator will also inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments, perform routine machine adjustments, and identify and report quality issues or potential improvements. Maintaining accurate records, adhering to safety procedures, and keeping the work area clean are also key aspects of this position. Collaboration with supervisors, quality personnel, and maintenance teams is essential to meet production goals.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work instructions.
- Experience using precision measuring equipment.
- Basic understanding of machining processes, tooling, and quality standards.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Completion of 9 month machining training program or equivalent.
Nice To Haves
- Prior CNC machining or manufacturing experience preferred.
- Basic industrial math skills.
- Effective verbal communication skills.
- Basic computer knowledge.
- Willingness to adapt to a changing environment.
Responsibilities
- Operate CNC lathes, mills, and other machining equipment.
- Set up machines according to work instructions, blueprints, and specifications.
- Load raw materials and monitor machine operations to ensure quality and efficiency.
- Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
- Perform routine machine adjustments and tool changes as needed.
- Identify and report quality issues, equipment malfunctions, and process improvements.
- Maintain accurate production and inspection records.
- Follow all company safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Keep work areas clean and organized in accordance with 5S and housekeeping standards.
- Work collaboratively with supervisors, quality personnel, and maintenance teams to meet production goals.
