About The Position

Sumitomo Electric Carbide Manufacturing specializes in manufacturing high-performance carbide cutting tools and is seeking CNC Machine Operators to join its growing team. Operators run CNC machines, make offset adjustments, learn machine setup, use appropriate tools, and maintain tight measurements and tolerances. They follow detailed operating procedures, position materials and tools, adjust settings and fixtures to meet part requirements, inspect finished parts with precision measuring equipment, and read part drawings or blueprints. All shifts are available. A $2,000 hiring bonus is offered. The machine shop is well-lit and temperature-controlled.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic math, logical reasoning, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to lift 25 pounds.
• Ability to communicate effectively and follow directions.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with G&M Code; this is not required.
• Previous experience operating CNC grinding equipment, including Walter, Waida, Wire EDM, Fanuc, Sodick, or ANCA equipment; this is not required.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC machines and make offset adjustments.
• Learn how to set up CNC machines.
• Identify and use the correct tools while maintaining tight measurements and tolerances.
• Follow detailed instructions and operating procedures.
• Install or change tools and correctly position materials in CNC machines.
• Adjust machine settings and fixtures to ensure parts meet requirements.
• Use precision measuring equipment to inspect finished parts.
• Read part drawings and blueprints.
