About The Position

Sumitomo Electric Carbide Manufacturing manufactures high-performance carbide cutting tools and is hiring CNC Machine Operators for all shifts. The role operates CNC machines and makes offset adjustments, learns machine setup, installs or changes tools, positions materials, and adjusts machine settings and fixtures to meet part requirements. Operators inspect finished parts using precision measuring equipment, read part drawings and blueprints, and follow detailed instructions and operating procedures. The work takes place in a well-lit, temperature-controlled machine shop. A $2,000 hiring bonus is offered.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic math, logical reasoning, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to lift 25 pounds.
• Ability to communicate effectively and follow directions.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with G&M Code; this is a plus but not required.
• Previous experience operating CNC grinding equipment, including Walter, Waida, Wire EDM, Fanuc, Sodick, or ANCA; this is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC machines and make offset adjustments.
• Learn how to set up CNC machines.
• Identify and use correct tools while maintaining tight measurements and tolerances.
• Follow detailed instructions and operating procedures.
• Install or change tools and correctly position materials in CNC machines.
• Adjust machine settings and fixtures to ensure parts meet requirements.
• Use precision measuring equipment to inspect finished parts.
• Read part drawings and blueprints.
