CNC Machine Operator Entry Level I (Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and every other Saturday, 5:00 pm - 5:00 am)
About The Position
The CNC Machine Operator sets up and operates CNC mills, lathes, and surface grinders to begin production with minimal supervision. The role supports production of medical devices at Artivion’s Austin facility and offers an opportunity to develop machining skills in a manufacturing environment. Operators handle materials, monitor machinery in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), conduct dimensional measurements, complete production records, troubleshoot issues with department leads, perform directed routine maintenance, and contribute to process improvements.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to set up and operate CNC mills, lathes, and/or surface grinders.
- Experience with dimensional measurement tools such as micrometers and gage blocks.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions and procedures.
- Problem-solving skills and willingness to collaborate with others.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Good communication skills and a positive attitude.
Nice To Haves
- Technical training or certification in CNC machining.
- Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) principles and practices.
Responsibilities
- Set up CNC mills, lathes, and surface grinders for production runs.
- Feed raw materials or parts into CNC and semi-automatic machinery while following Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
- Monitor CNC and semi-automatic machinery throughout production and maintain adherence to GMP requirements.
- Use micrometers, test indicators, optical comparators, and gage blocks to conduct dimensional measurements and verify product specifications.
- Complete processing records and related documentation accurately and legibly.
- Collaborate with department leads to troubleshoot equipment or processing issues.
- Perform routine machinery maintenance as directed.
- Suggest improvements to processes and equipment to enhance efficiency and quality.
- Perform additional duties assigned by operations management to support production goals.
- Maintain positive relationships with coworkers and peers, and respond constructively to feedback.
- Manage time effectively to meet production schedules and deadlines.
