About The Position

InterMetro Industries is seeking a full-time operator for its Sheet Metal Fabrication Department at the Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania plant. The role supports the manufacture of cabinets and other products by preparing sheet metal stock for finished products. Attention to detail and meeting production and quality standards are required. Candidates must successfully complete screening requirements and a probationary period of 400 working hours. The position is part of a bargaining unit based on seniority, so shifts are not guaranteed; applicants should be available to work any shift. Employee benefits and additional rate increases are available after successful completion of screening and the probationary period. Relocation assistance is not available. The employer will hire only individuals legally authorized to work in the United States and will not provide sponsorship.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic computer skills.
• Successful completion of screening requirements and a probationary period of 400 working hours.
• Availability to work any shift.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, or technical drawings.
• Ability to use common measuring systems and measurement tools.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate NC Turrets, the Fiber Laser, and Laser/Turret equipment.
• Use precision measuring equipment and simple tools such as a tape measure and protractor.
• Read and interpret blueprints.
• Perform and verify machine set-ups to meet performance and quality standards.
• Operate auxiliary equipment as assigned.
• Clean and maintain the work area.
• Meet production and quality standards.
• Work effectively and cooperatively in a team environment.
• Maintain regular attendance.
