About The Position

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides delegated direct nursing care to individual patients and, when appropriate, their significant others. The CNA organizes delegated aspects of care to support the RN in efficiently meeting patient needs.

This Med/Surg position is 32 hours per week, with weekday hours from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. and rotating weekends and holidays.

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited school for Certified Nursing Assistants.
• Currently listed on the CNA Registry in the state.
• BLS certification required.
• Meet health requirements.
• Ability to work in an acute care patient environment with appropriate technological support.
• Ability to deal calmly with multiple priorities.
• Decision-making, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Recognize legal responsibilities and functions specified by the Nurse Practice Act.

Responsibilities

• Provide delegated direct nursing care to individual patients and, when appropriate, their significant others.
• Organize delegated aspects of care to support the RN in meeting patient needs efficiently.
• Assist with patient care, including transferring and positioning patients and transporting patients as needed.
• Maneuver equipment and retrieve equipment or supplies to assist with patient care.
