About The Position
The CNA / PCA In-Home Caregiver provides hands-on care and companionship to seniors in private homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, and memory care settings. The role is suitable for nursing students seeking practical healthcare experience and offers flexible scheduling based on client needs and caregiver availability. Caregivers provide personal care, mobility and transfer assistance, meal preparation, companionship, transportation, medication reminders, and other support according to each client's care plan and the caregiver's training and qualifications. They communicate changes, concerns, and safety issues to the appropriate team. Local office staff provide scheduling and care support, and introductions or orientation may be arranged for challenging or unfamiliar assignments when appropriate.
Requirements
- Be compassionate, dependable, respectful, patient, and professional.
- Have nursing student, CNA, PCA, or caregiver qualifications or credentials as required.
- Have personal care and activities-of-daily-living experience.
- Maintain reliable attendance and communicate clearly.
- Respect client dignity, privacy, preferences, and home.
- Be able to follow a care plan and report changes or concerns.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with Hoyer lifts, transfers, Foley care, hospice or bed-bound care, companionship, meal preparation, or light housekeeping.
Responsibilities
- Provide personal care, including bathing, grooming, dressing, hygiene, toileting, and incontinence care.
- Assist with ambulation, positioning, transfers, and gait belt or Hoyer lift use when appropriate.
- Prepare meals and provide companionship, social engagement, and light housekeeping.
- Transport or accompany clients to errands and medical appointments.
- Provide medication reminders and prescribed range-of-motion assistance.
- Assist with blood glucose monitoring, Foley care, bed-bound care, and hospice supportive care when trained and appropriate.
- Follow the care plan and report changes, concerns, or safety issues.
- Attend introductions or orientation for challenging or unfamiliar assignments when provided.
