About The Position

Visiting Angels of Albuquerque is hiring CNA Nurse Aides to serve clients in Cedar Crest and surrounding local areas, including Albuquerque, Tijeras, Sedillo, Carnuel, and Sandia Heights. The role supports clients’ quality of life and wellness in accordance with their individual care plans. Caregivers may assist with personal care and hygiene, mobility, meals, light housekeeping, medication reminders, errands, and companionship, while reporting health changes and responding to emergencies. Advanced training opportunities are available in dementia and Alzheimer’s care.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid driver’s license, car insurance, and a reliable personal vehicle for transporting clients.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Training in First Aid and emergency response; training is provided if needed.
Excellent time-management skills and ability to juggle multiple duties.
Reliable transportation to and from client homes at scheduled times.
Physical endurance for tasks such as carrying groceries and physically supporting a client.
Comfort performing housekeeping and cooking duties while adhering to applicable dietary constraints.
Willingness and ability to comply with state and office-specific health and safety standards, such as background checks.
Compassion, understanding, and a desire to brighten clients’ days.

Nice To Haves

Interest in broadening skills through advanced training in dementia care or Alzheimer’s care.

Responsibilities

Help clients with personal care and hygiene.
Assist clients with light physical exercise or walks.
Plan and prepare meals with clients, observing applicable dietary constraints.
Handle light housekeeping duties.
Report health changes or unusual incidents.
Provide pleasant, supportive companionship.
Respond quickly and responsibly in emergencies.
Accompany and supervise clients during shopping trips.
Remind clients to take prescription medications appropriately.
Assist clients with mobility and ambulation at home and during appointments or errands.
Transport clients using a reliable personal vehicle, as needed.
