About The Position

Visiting Angels of Albuquerque is hiring caregivers to serve clients throughout Cedar Crest, Albuquerque, Tijeras, Sedillo, Carnuel, Sandia Heights, and other local areas. Caregivers help enrich clients’ quality of life and support their wellness in accordance with individual care plans. The role includes personal care, companionship, household assistance, meal preparation, mobility support, medication reminders, and accompaniment on errands and appointments. Caregivers must respond responsibly in emergencies and report health changes or unusual incidents. Advanced training opportunities are available in areas such as dementia care and Alzheimer’s care.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid driver’s license, car insurance, and a reliable personal vehicle for transporting clients.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Training in First Aid and emergency response; training is provided if needed.
Excellent time-management skills and ability to handle multiple duties at once.
Reliable transportation to and from client homes at scheduled times.
Physical endurance for tasks such as carrying groceries and physically supporting a client.
Comfort performing housekeeping and cooking duties while following applicable dietary constraints.
Willingness and ability to comply with state and office-specific health and safety standards, including background checks.
Compassion, understanding, and a desire to brighten each client’s day.

Interest in broadening caregiving skills through advanced training in dementia care or Alzheimer’s care.

Responsibilities

Help clients with personal care and hygiene.
Assist clients with light physical exercise or walks.
Plan and prepare meals with clients while observing applicable dietary constraints.
Handle light housekeeping duties.
Report health changes or unusual incidents.
Provide pleasant, supportive companionship.
Respond quickly and responsibly in emergencies.
Accompany and supervise clients during shopping trips.
Remind clients to take prescription medications appropriately.
Assist with mobility and ambulation at home and during appointments or errands.
Transport clients using a reliable personal vehicle.
