About The Position

Tidewell Hospice, part of Empath Health, is seeking a caring and motivated Certified Nursing Assistant to provide exceptional care at its Hospice Houses in Sarasota and other area facilities. The role may involve assignments at the Lakewood Ranch, Sarasota, and Bradenton Hospice Houses and Venice general inpatient units. The listed schedule is 8:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.; the position is described as days or nights PRN.

The CNA supports the organization’s mission, vision, and values and performs only personal care and home-maintenance activities included in a written Hospice Aide Plan of Care from a health professional. The CNA recognizes and reports unusual patient conditions, incidents, or behavior, including patient and family interactions, to the patient’s nurse or supervisory nurse; works within the Hospice Aide scope of practice; and maintains patient and family confidentiality.

Requirements

• Valid Florida Board of Nursing CNA certification/license.
• One to three years of training and/or experience.
• A valid Florida State Driver’s License is required only if the colleague chooses to drive when reassigned to another facility; it is not required when choosing an alternative means of transportation. Transportation costs are the colleague’s responsibility, except for eligible mileage reimbursement when traveling between facilities on company time.

Nice To Haves

• One year of experience in a long-term care facility is strongly preferred.
