About The Position

Pikes Peak Hospice & Palliative Care is hiring a Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) for its Inpatient Care Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado. This is a full-time, day-shift position scheduled for three 12-hour shifts per week, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., totaling 36 hours per week. The hourly pay range is $20.59–$25.19, with a weekend hourly range of $22.09–$26.69. Depending on position, schedule, and availability, supplemental pay may include mileage, overtime, and shift differentials. Mileage is reimbursed at $0.625 per mile. The CNA provides supportive and skilled care within their scope of practice to promote comfort and dignity for hospice, palliative-care, and/or home-care patients. The role represents the agency positively and supports patients, families, and facility staff. CNAs may work with patients from neonates through geriatrics. Requirements

Current Colorado CNA license.
Current CPR certification; CPR must be provided and/or obtained within 14 days of hire.
Ability to lift, push, or pull a minimum of 35 pounds.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
One year of CNA experience desired; hospice experience preferred. New graduates are accepted.

Responsibilities

Deliver care according to the Plan of Care established by the RN Case Manager and/or assigned RN, and communicate observations and knowledge of patient needs and preferences to the appropriate clinical personnel.
Participate in Interdisciplinary Team/Group meetings as assigned.
Communicate with the Case Manager about the Plan of Care and urgent patient-care needs; contact the Clinical Manager if the Case Manager is unavailable.
Assist with ambulation, range-of-motion exercises, positioning, turning, and transfers according to the patient’s abilities, tolerance, and preferences.
Take and record vital signs, observe changes in patient condition or behavior, and promptly report changes to licensed nursing personnel.
Provide personal care, including bathing, peri-care, shampooing, oral hygiene, denture care, nail care, shaving, and dressing assistance.
Assist with toileting needs, including bedpan or urinal use, catheter care, and changing briefs; administer suppositories or enemas when delegated and supervised.
Address food and fluid needs by preparing meals, feeding patients, and/or offering fluids.
Help maintain skin integrity and prevent pressure ulcers, skin tears, and other damage by changing incontinent patients, turning and repositioning them, and applying lotion.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
