About The Position

Freedom Village Holland is hiring Certified Nurse Aides for day positions, with full-time and part-time opportunities. Employees can choose a first- or second-shift schedule, including Monday through Friday, weekends only, every other weekend, or another schedule that works for them. The listed pay is $16.50–$22.25 per hour, including shift differentials. Sign-on bonuses are $2,000 for part-time and $3,500 for full-time hires.

The CNA provides personal and non-personal care to residents, helping support independent living while offering assistance as needed. The role promotes resident dignity, safety, and engagement; maintains accurate care records; and responds promptly to residents’ needs and “Call for Aide” alerts. The work setting includes long-term care, a nursing home, and geriatrics.

Requirements

• Current Michigan Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) certification; CNA certification is required.
• Ability to understand and follow instructions in English.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to document care accurately.
• Ability to transfer residents weighing 50 or more pounds with proper equipment and support.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal and non-personal care to residents.
• Support residents’ independent living while providing assistance as needed.
• Promote resident dignity, safety, and engagement.
• Maintain accurate records of care and observations.
• Respond promptly to resident needs and “Call for Aide” alerts.
• Take vital signs as indicated.
• Assist with bathing, dressing, and bed changes.
• Escort residents to dining, therapy, activities, and appointments.
• Make daily rounds to ill residents.
• Keep the Supervisor informed of resident status.
• Monitor medication compliance.
• Assist with tray service and meal support.
• Participate in ongoing resident assessments.
• Attend weekly update and Health Committee meetings.
• Support residents and families as needed.
• Attend in-service training and education sessions.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
