About The Position

The Gardens At Luther Park is a 70-apartment assisted living community with a Memory Care Unit. The Certified Medication Aide/Medication Manager is an important member of the care team and works under the direction of an RN to care for residents in a home-like environment. The role includes administering medications, helping residents with daily activities, supporting memory care residents through prompting, cueing, problem-solving, and redirection, and helping maintain residents’ safety and security. The CMA charts in electronic health records using Point Click Care and assists nursing personnel with routine CNA-type duties as assigned. The position involves working one weekend a month.

Requirements

• High school diploma.
• Medication Aide certificate or completion of Iowa’s assisted living medication manager course.
• A post-offer physical, drug screen, TB test, and background check are required.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications under the direction of an RN.
• Help residents with daily activities.
• Assist memory care residents through prompting, cueing, problem-solving, and redirection.
• Chart in electronic health records using Point Click Care.
• Help maintain the safety and security of residents.
• Assist nursing personnel with routine CNA-type duties as assigned.
