Additionally, the role involves managing communications via phone and EMR, handling patient schedules, incoming and outgoing referrals, obtaining insurance authorizations for special testing, and working Epic work queues. Administrative tasks such as scanning, monitoring faxes, and other duties assigned by the manager are included. Maintaining a clean and safe environment, ensuring patient confidentiality, managing patient records according to HIPAA and regulatory requirements, and working with HIM on release of information requests are also essential functions. The ideal candidate must demonstrate good verbal and nonverbal communication skills, the ability to multi-task, be organized, and maintain patient confidentiality.
