Club Sports Event Operations Staff
About The Position
The Club Sports Event Operations Staff member provides operational support for Club Sports athletic and special events, including camps, clinics, and other special events. The role also supports facility upkeep and cleanliness through regular walkthroughs, cleaning locker rooms between uses, and maintaining public spaces such as lobbies, concourses, and restrooms. At the LaHaye Ice Center, the employee assists the public with skate rentals, sharpens rental skates, and helps maintain patron safety by preventing access to restricted or unsafe areas while wearing skates. The position may also support Club Sports teams as needed, stay informed about emerging industry practices, and collaborate as a team member in support of Liberty University’s mission. Travel may be required for job duties; when driving, the employee must meet the stated license, driving approval, DMV record, and insurance requirements.
Requirements
- If driving is required, provide proof of a valid driver’s license, an acceptable DMV record, LU Driving Approval, and liability insurance.
Responsibilities
- Provide support as directed by the designated supervisor.
- Support athletic and special events for Club Sports.
- Assist with operational needs related to camps, clinics, and special events.
- Conduct regular facility walkthroughs to ensure facilities remain neat and clean.
- Clean locker rooms between uses.
- Maintain public spaces, including lobbies, concourses, and restrooms.
- Assist the public with skate rentals at the LaHaye Ice Center.
- Sharpen rental skates to maintain quality standards.
- Ensure patrons wearing skates do not enter restricted or unsafe areas.
- Support Club Sports teams, including lacrosse, hockey, volleyball, wrestling, and triathlon, as needed.
- Stay informed about emerging technologies, processes, products, and industry best practices.
- Collaborate effectively as a team member and promote Liberty University’s mission.
- Travel as required to perform job duties; driving may require use of a personal or LU vehicle.
