About The Position

The Club Attendant supports member satisfaction by providing exceptional customer service and completing maintenance and cleaning tasks to keep the facility healthy, clean, and orderly. The role includes routine cleaning, restocking supplies, waste removal, assigned cleaning projects, and minor cosmetic repairs. At clubs with wet areas, duties may also include cleaning pool decks, vacuuming pools, cleaning steam rooms and saunas, and conducting regular pool chemical testing. The Club Attendant uses janitorial supplies according to product labels and club manuals, reports facility maintenance issues through Service Channel, and refers member complaints to the General Manager. The position partners with the Facilities Technician and reports to the General Manager, with regular interaction with club management, team members, and members. Travel between clubs may be required.

Requirements

• Knowledge of cleaning practices and procedures.
• Ability to understand and follow written instructions.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently in the absence of supervision.
• Attention to detail.
• Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with people contacted in the course of duties.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Six months of janitorial experience.
• Ability to stand, walk, and use hands and arms regularly.
• Ability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl frequently.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds occasionally.
• Ability to communicate with internal and external members by telephone.
• Ability to use cleaning chemicals, ladders, and cleaning utensils.
• Ability to work around moving mechanical parts and occasional loud noise.
• Ability to travel between clubs if required.

Responsibilities

• Clean and dust walls, mirrors, countertops, glass, and windows.
• Sweep, mop, scrub, and vacuum floors throughout club areas, including locker rooms, weight areas, cardio areas, offices, hallways, and stairs.
• Clean and dust weight and cardio equipment.
• Restock supplies.
• Empty garbage and recycling containers.
• Complete daily and weekly scopes of work as assigned.
• Perform special cleaning projects as assigned.
• Clean and maintain wet areas when applicable, including pool decks, pools, steam rooms, and saunas, and conduct regular pool chemical testing.
• Perform minor cosmetic repairs on equipment, such as rust removal, touch-up painting, and relabeling.
• Partner with the Facilities Technician on equipment cleaning duties described in the preventative maintenance guide.
• Perform minor painting as approved or directed by the General Manager and Facilities Technician.
• Use janitorial supplies according to product labels and club manuals.
• Report newly identified facility maintenance issues through Service Channel.
• Report member complaints to the General Manager.
