About The Position

Microsoft is seeking a customer-facing Cloud Solution Architect specializing in Data and Analytics, AI, and App Innovation, including GitHub, GitHub Copilot, and DevOps. The role owns the technical relationship between Microsoft and its customers, helping them use Microsoft Azure and realize value from their Microsoft investments through architecture and operational health engagements.

The architect works with customers to understand business and IT priorities, design solutions and roadmaps, and drive proofs of concept and minimum viable products. The role ensures solutions meet standards for performance, security, scalability, maintainability, reusability, and reliability, while infusing AI technologies where appropriate. The architect also shares customer insights with Microsoft engineering, contributes reusable intellectual property, keeps technical knowledge current, and helps accelerate customer outcomes.

The role requires a bachelor's degree in a listed or related field and at least four years of relevant experience, or equivalent experience. U.S. work authorization that does not require current or future employer sponsorship is required. The position is not eligible for visa sponsorship. The typical U.S. base pay range is $106,400–$203,600 per year; the range for the San Francisco Bay Area and New York City metropolitan area is $137,600–$222,600 per year. Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation. Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, Liberal Arts, or a related field, and 4+ years of experience in cloud/infrastructure technologies, IT consulting/support, systems administration, network operations, software development/support, technology solutions, practice development, architecture, and/or consulting; or equivalent experience.
• Authorization to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship; the position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor's degree in a listed or related field and 8+ years of relevant experience; or a master's degree in a listed or related field and 6+ years of relevant experience in cloud/infrastructure technologies, technology solutions, practice development, architecture, and/or consulting; or equivalent experience.
• 4+ years of experience in a customer-facing role, internal and/or external.
• 4+ years of experience working on technical projects.
• Technical cloud certification, such as Azure, Amazon Web Services, Google, or a security certification.

Responsibilities

• Understand customers’ overall data estate, business and IT priorities, and success measures; design Data & Analytics solutions that drive business value and customer satisfaction and establish trusted-advisor relationships.
• Ensure solutions perform well and meet requirements for security, scalability, maintainability, repeatability, appropriate reusability, and reliability after deployment; provide customer and partner feedback and insights.
• Develop opportunities that drive Customer Success business results and help customers realize value from Microsoft investments; resolve customer blockers using subject-matter expertise and deliver according to Microsoft best practices and reusable intellectual property.
• Apply technical knowledge to architect and design solutions that meet business and IT needs; create Data & Analytics roadmaps, drive proofs of concept and minimum viable products, and ensure long-term technical viability of deployments, incorporating AI technologies where appropriate.
• Represent the Voice of Customer by sharing insights and best practices, connecting with Engineering to remove blockers, and driving product improvements.
• Maintain technical skills and knowledge, stay current on market trends and competitive insights, collaborate with and share knowledge across the AI technical community, and educate customers on the Azure platform.
• Share expertise, contribute to intellectual property creation and reuse to accelerate customer outcomes, and obtain relevant accreditations and certifications.
