About The Position

The Clothing Supervisor oversees linen and laundry functions at the Smithfield Utah Temple, ensuring clean, well-cared-for temple clothing and linen supplies are available for sacred ordinances, temple patrons, Church Service workers, and employees. The role also orders and maintains clothing and linen inventory for temple operations.

The position supports an environment where patrons can have a positive and uplifting temple experience and helps maintain temple operations to standards established by the First Presidency. It supervises staff, volunteers, and ordinance workers, and oversees administrative functions related to personnel, finances, equipment, and technical operations. The operation is expected to break even while maintaining safe working conditions and staying within budget guidelines.

Requirements

• Three years of relevant experience, such as supervisory or commercial laundry experience.
• At least one year of leadership or supervisory experience.
• Thorough knowledge of inventory control, budgeting, and personnel assignment.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to lift 30 pounds; bend, kneel, stoop, pull, and push; perform physically demanding work in a fast-paced environment; and stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Supervises staff, including volunteers and ordinance workers.
• Controls labor, equipment, and operating-supply expenditures to operate a break-even operation; maintains a safe work environment and keeps costs within budget guidelines.
• Maintains the cleanliness and repair of temple clothing and other linen supplies.
• Ensures all temple areas have adequate clean linen supplies.
• Supervises, trains, and evaluates employees and volunteers.
• Orders the yearly supply of temple clothing and maintains a one-year supply.
• Maintains the clothing inventory system.
