About The Position

Provides direct customer service and support by selling merchandise on the sales floor, assisting with customer carry-outs, and stocking and restocking merchandise. The position specializes in clothing, footwear, and accessories. Duties may also include other related customer service, merchandising, and product-handling work assigned by management.

Requirements

• Knowledge of retail floor sales techniques.
• Ability to understand and follow specific instructions and procedures.
• Ability to sort, check, count, and verify numbers.
• Ability to resolve difficult or stressful customer service issues.
• Demonstrated teamwork.
• Ability to stand for the majority of a shift.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and physically participate in resets, remodels, and reconstruction projects.

Nice To Haves

• Exposure to visual merchandising and product placement techniques is desired.
• High school diploma or GED is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Sell merchandise and advise customers about merchandise prices and features.
• Provide product knowledge and recommend alternative or accessory goods.
• Advise and assist customers with ordering specialized merchandise as needed.
• Assist with receiving and displaying merchandise according to established policies, procedures, and standards.
• Answer telephones and handle routine customer inquiries by phone.
• Perform floor maintenance and housekeeping, and monitor the condition and safekeeping of merchandise.
• Prepare for and participate in inventory cycle activities.
• Move materials using appropriate equipment, including by hand, hand trucks, pallet jacks, dollies, forklifts, or other vehicles.
• Perform other duties assigned by management related to customer service, merchandising, and product handling.
