About The Position

Provide direct customer service and support by selling merchandise on the sales floor, assisting with customer carry-outs, and stocking and restocking merchandise. The position specializes in clothing, footwear, and accessories. Duties and responsibilities may include other work of a similar kind or level of difficulty assigned by a supervisor.

Requirements

Knowledge of retail floor sales techniques.
Ability to understand and follow specific instructions and procedures.
Ability to sort, check, count, and verify numbers.
Ability to resolve difficult or stressful customer-service issues.
Demonstrated teamwork.
Able to stand for the majority of a shift.
Able to lift up to 75 pounds and physically participate in resets, remodels, and reconstruction projects.

Nice To Haves

Exposure to visual merchandising and product placement techniques is desired.
High school diploma or GED is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Sell merchandise and advise customers about merchandise prices and features.
Provide product knowledge and recommend alternative or accessory goods.
Advise and assist customers with ordering specialized merchandise as needed.
Assist with receiving and displaying merchandise according to established policies, procedures, and standards.
Answer telephones and handle routine customer inquiries by phone.
Perform general floor maintenance and housekeeping, and monitor and maintain merchandise condition and safekeeping.
Prepare for and participate in inventory cycle activities.
Move materials using appropriate handling tools and equipment, including by hand, hand truck, pallet jack, dolly, forklifts, or other vehicles.
Perform other duties assigned by management related to customer service, merchandising, and product handling.
Assist customers with carry-outs and stock and restock merchandise.
