About The Position

Provide direct customer service and support by selling merchandise on the sales floor, assisting with customer carry-outs, and stocking and restocking merchandise. The position specializes in clothing, footwear, and accessories. The role also involves receiving and displaying merchandise, handling customer telephone inquiries, maintaining the sales floor, participating in inventory activities, and moving materials with appropriate handling tools and equipment. Management may assign other related duties involving customer service, merchandising, and product handling.

Requirements

• Knowledge of retail floor sales techniques.
• Ability to understand and follow specific instructions and procedures.
• Ability to sort, check, count, and verify numbers.
• Ability to resolve difficult or stressful customer service issues.
• Demonstrated teamwork.
• Ability to stand for the majority of a shift.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and physically participate in resets, remodels, and reconstruction projects.

Nice To Haves

• Exposure to visual merchandising and product placement techniques.
• High school diploma or GED (preferred, not required).

Responsibilities

• Sell merchandise and advise customers about prices and product features.
• Provide product knowledge and recommend alternative or accessory goods.
• Advise and assist customers with ordering specialized merchandise as needed.
• Assist with receiving and displaying merchandise according to established policies, procedures, and standards.
• Answer telephones and handle routine customer inquiries.
• Perform general floor maintenance and housekeeping, and monitor merchandise condition and safekeeping.
• Prepare for and participate in inventory cycle activities.
• Move materials using appropriate handling tools and equipment, including by hand, hand truck, pallet jack, dolly, forklifts, or other vehicles.
• Perform other duties assigned by management related to customer service, merchandising, and product handling.
