About The Position

This seasonal position provides direct customer service and support by selling merchandise on the sales floor, assisting with customer carry-outs, and stocking and restocking merchandise. The role specializes in clothing, footwear, and accessories. It also involves receiving and displaying merchandise, responding to routine customer inquiries, maintaining sales-floor conditions, participating in inventory activities, and moving merchandise with appropriate handling tools and equipment. Other related duties may be assigned by management.

Requirements

• Knowledge of retail floor sales techniques.
• Ability to understand and follow specific instructions and procedures.
• Ability to sort, check, count, and verify numbers.
• Ability to resolve difficult or stressful customer service issues.
• Demonstrated teamwork.
• Must be able to stand for the majority of a shift.
• Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds to move merchandise and participate physically in resets, remodels, and reconstruction projects.

Nice To Haves

• Exposure to visual merchandising and product placement techniques is desired.
• High school diploma or GED is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Sell merchandise and advise customers about prices and product features.
• Share product knowledge and recommend alternative or accessory merchandise.
• Assist customers with ordering specialized merchandise as needed.
• Help receive and display merchandise in accordance with established policies, procedures, and standards.
• Answer telephone calls and handle routine customer inquiries.
• Perform general sales-floor maintenance and housekeeping, and monitor the condition and safekeeping of merchandise.
• Prepare for and participate in inventory cycle activities.
• Move merchandise using appropriate tools and equipment, including by hand, hand trucks, pallet jacks, dollies, forklifts, or other vehicles.
• Perform other duties related to customer service, merchandising, and product handling as assigned by management.
