About The Position

The Clinical Technician 1 assists with direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. The role communicates and collaborates with care team members to implement the plan of care and meet individualized and developmental patient care outcomes. The technician partners with the Registered Nurse to create a professional development plan, gain skills needed to provide up-to-date patient care, and use information to continuously improve care and practice while enhancing outcomes.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Basic Life Support certification within 3 months.
No licensure required.
No experience required.
No KSAs required.

Responsibilities

Assist in delivering direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
Provide basic activities of daily living care, such as bathing and feeding, and measure vital signs and intake/output.
Demonstrate competency in required clinical skills and technologies in accordance with Inova Health System policies and procedures.
Complete assigned patient duties within established time frames.
Apply knowledge of growth and development when caring for the assigned patient population.
Complete required documentation accurately and reinforce discharge teaching and home care skills.
Communicate changes in patient status to the Registered Nurse in a timely manner.
Partner with the Registered Nurse to create a professional development plan to gain the skills necessary to deliver up-to-date patient care.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
