Provider Assistant, Clinical Support Technician
About The Position
This position will provide and/or support patient care by performing tasks and duties consistent with professional standards and HealthPartners policies and procedures. In addition, may function in supply aid and/or sterilization capacity by maintaining a safe work area and ensuring that it is adequately stocked, cleaned and organized. Implement cleaning and sterilizing procedures to support infection control and OSHA standards. The provider assistant assists the healthcare providers in the timely delivery of services per physician/RN direction and according to Clinic policies and procedures. All programs and activities are designed to support the short- and long-term mission, vision, goals, and objectives of HealthPartners Clinic Stillwater.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- 2 years customer service experience and/or healthcare experience
- Complete Medical Terminology and Pharmacology online courses within six months of hire
- Current and maintained BLS certification in accordance with American Heart Association (AHA). No online only courses accepted.
- Demonstrated organizational skills
- Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills, including appropriate use of English grammar and spelling
- Demonstrated ability to follow detailed instruction work efficiently despite interruptions and maintain a courteous and cooperative manner
- Demonstrated ability to function with multiple priorities and interruptions
Nice To Haves
- Graduate of an accredited pharmacy technician program or currently registered as a pharmacy technician with one or more years pharmacy technician experience
- Graduate of an accredited Nursing Assistant program and current Nursing Assistant Certification
Responsibilities
- Interview patients and document basic medical history
- Take vital signs and document findings in the patient record
- Review annual wellness questionnaire with appropriate patients
- Administer immunizations
- Monitor messages and relay clinician responses via phone calls
- Enter orders for laboratory services
