About The Position

Frontier Behavioral Health (FBH) is a non-profit organization with over 100 years of experience in Spokane, dedicated to providing evidence-based treatment for behavioral health issues in adults, youth, and seniors. As a Trauma-Informed Care Organization, FBH believes in recovery and empowering clients to lead fulfilling lives. The Mobile Crisis Assessment and Treatment (MCAT) team serves individuals aged 22 and older who require crisis intervention, stabilization, or may need inpatient psychiatric hospitalization. The MCAT team prioritizes referrals from various sources including DCRs, psychiatric triage, first responders, and hospital emergency departments. They serve individuals who frequently interact with law enforcement, emergency departments, and the legal system, and may have co-occurring disorders or be homeless. MCAT also provides crisis response for Trueblood class members identified by the Health Care Authority. The position involves a Wednesday-Saturday shift from 12 PM to 10:30 PM, with a shift differential.

Requirements

Master's degree in the behavioral sciences
Two years' post master's degree experience in crisis intervention and the direct provision of mental health treatment services.
At the time of hire, must meet the requirements of a Mental Health Professional as defined by WAC 246-341-0200 by having applied for one of the following DOH credentials: Licensed Agency Affiliated Counselor (LAAC) OR License Mental Health Counselor Associate (LMHCA) OR Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker Associate (LICSWA) OR Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate (LMFTA).
Credential must be active with DOH within 6 months of hire date unless currently meeting preferred licensure credential requirement below.
Must have an unrestricted and valid driver’s license.
Must be able to pass a motor vehicle screening and driving test.
Must have active car insurance.
Must be willing to use their personal vehicle in the course of work.

Nice To Haves

Active DOH licensure (e.g., LMHC, LICSW, LMFT) in the State of Washington (Licensed employees have the title Supervisor II)
Previous supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Provides direct supervision of assigned staff and participates in planning and evaluation of the program.
Trains and supervises staff to ensure compliance and implementation of program goals and objectives.
Provides consultation and education to other FBH staff and the community.
Supports the operations of mobile crisis response in the provision of crisis intervention and evaluation services for youth, adults, and families in a behavioral health crisis.
Ensures the provision of crisis intervention and stabilization services in the community, including recovery plan development, individual services, crisis and hospital diversion services, initial and follow-up assessments, suicide and homicide risk assessments, safety plan development, and referral services.
Assists non-Medicaid individuals to access Medicaid.
Facilitates the use of/access to crisis hospital diversion resources, including Stabilization and/or E&T admission.
Maintains and provides required data as specified in the SCRBH-ASO Crisis Response Services Provider Guide.
Obtains necessary training for team members to increase their skills for engaging clients.
Covers shifts as needed.
Is involved in quality improvement projects to assist the team in diverting inpatient admissions.
Represents the agency in a positive and professional manner.
Maintains and enhances customer service.
Establishes and maintains collaborative relationships with FBH staff.
Maintains working relationships with the courts, attorneys, private psychiatrists, police and sheriff's deputies, jail staff, clinical and administrative staff at inpatient psychiatric facilities, staff of other agencies, advocate and consumer groups, and citizens.
Complies with all state WAC requirements and FBH policies and procedures.
Performs FBH charting requirements, correspondence, Workday, and other paperwork in a complete and timely manner.
Participates in peer review, supervision, educational, and administrative meetings as directed.
Travels to see clients in the community and between work sites using FBH owned vehicles and/or personal vehicles.
Performs other duties as assigned.
