About The Position

The Clinical Supervisor provides direct supervision and clinical support to Clinical Care Managers, Clinical Community Liaisons, Peer Support Specialists, Team Leads, and Administrative staff within RMHS' Community Transitions Department to ensure the delivery of quality services to the participants in the Momentum, Transition Specialist, and Forensic programs. In collaboration with the Community Transitions Clinical Program Managers, the Clinical Supervisor is responsible for the recruitment, orientation, and ongoing training of Clinical Care Managers, Clinical Community Liaisons, Peer Support Specialists, Team Leads, and Administrative staff. Clinical Supervisors are responsible for monitoring, evaluating, and managing the performance of their direct reports. The Community Transitions program assists participants in transitioning from various behavioral health and forensic settings to successful community living. The goal is to ensure that comprehensive, coordinated, easily accessible, culturally informed, trauma informed, and integrated services are available for people in the community; and to minimize the risk of readmissions to hospitals, emergency departments, withdrawal management, Colorado Crisis Services, and arrest; and to ensure an individual’s stability in the community.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, marriage and family counseling, public health, criminal justice or a closely related field.
  • 3 years of experience providing direct services or intensive case management for individuals with serious and persistent mental health and/or substance use disorders.
  • 1 year of supervisory or progressively responsible experience which includes oversight and training of other team members.
  • Automobile with valid driver’s license and insurance.
  • Must be willing and able to complete a background check and additional screening per state and organization requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in social work, psychology, marriage and family counseling, public health, criminal justice or a closely related field, including specific training in behavioral health disorders.
  • Licensure as a mental health professional in the State of Colorado (e.g., licensed psychologist, LCSW, LPC, LMFT, LAC)
  • 5 years of experience providing direct behavioral health services or intensive case management for individuals with serious and persistent mental illness and/or substance use disorders.
  • Previous behavioral health supervisory experience
  • Bilingual - Spanish
  • Driving Category B: Employees who may drive RMHS or personal vehicles for business purposes. Category B employees may transport other employees but will not transport RMHS clients.
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Proof of motor vehicle insurance
  • Personal vehicle in good operating condition for use during work, including transporting individuals
  • No major violations in the past three years.
  • No more than two moving violations in the past three years
  • Ability to meet and maintain agency driving requirements and operate agency vehicles
  • Drivers must upload proof of ongoing auto insurance every 6 months into Paycom/Relias.
  • Any Accidents and/or damages while using a personal vehicle for work purposes shall be the sole responsibility of the employee. RMHS is not responsible for any damage incurred to the employee’s personal property.

Responsibilities

  • Provides clinical, peer, and administrative supervision to assigned staff through developing and maintaining supportive working relationships to ensure the delivery of high-quality services for the persons served in the programs.
  • Evaluates staff performance through weekly clinical supervision, audits, department reports, and periodic performance evaluations, including a 120-day Competency Evaluation and the Annual Performance Review.
  • Manages performance of all direct reports to include training, monitoring, feedback, coaching, and performance management up to and including termination.
  • Monitors and approves time and attendance, mileage reimbursement, and expense tracking consistent with Personnel Policies and Procedures.
  • Reviews and approves client spending by individual staff assigned and assists the staff in tracking individual client spending in compliance with BHA contract, departmental and organizational policies and procedures.
  • Reviews and supports Clinical Care Managers and Team Leads with revising requests for funds including but not limited to Financial Requests and Person-Centered Planning Board requests.
  • Monitors internal timelines to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Supports communication between Community Transitions and the BHA Contract Manager regarding requests for funds, clinical decision making, or ad hoc program requests.
  • Monitors activities of staff to ensure that services are consistent across the programs and compliant with departmental and organizational policies and procedures.
  • Provides and coordinates staff training which may include modeling and shadowing in the field as well as providing a thorough review of policies and procedures, and an overview of information systems, communication, and technical devices.
  • Participates in department workplan goals including taking responsibility for project timelines to ensure completion.
  • Assists in identifying needs for new hire and ongoing training, services, and assists in the creation and provision of training.
  • Participates in or leads department meetings including case consultations, team meetings, Community Transitions department meetings and trainings.
  • In collaboration with Clinical Program Managers and Clinical Supervisors, interviews and assists with hiring direct reports, as needed.
  • Responsible for role with assignment of clients and caseload management in collaboration with the referral and case assignment process within the Community Transition programs.
  • Monitors work assigned to each team member to ensure caseload equity, quality, and compliance with service and documentation timeframes and expectations.
  • Participates in departmental functions and other projects as assigned.
