About The Position

The Clinical Supervisor provides direct supervision and clinical support to Clinical Care Managers and Team Leads within the Rocky Mountain Human Services’ (RMHS) Community Transitions Department. This role ensures the delivery of quality services to participants in the Momentum, Transition Specialist, and Forensic programs. The supervisor is responsible for the recruitment, orientation, and ongoing training of Clinical Care Managers and Team Leads, as well as monitoring, evaluating, and managing their performance. The Community Transitions program aims to assist participants in transitioning from various behavioral health and forensic settings to successful community living. The program's goal is to provide comprehensive, coordinated, easily accessible, culturally informed, trauma-informed, and integrated services to minimize the risk of readmissions to hospitals, emergency departments, withdrawal management, Colorado Crisis Services, and arrest, thereby ensuring an individual’s stability in the community.

Requirements

  • Ability to provide supervision and direction to a team of Clinical Care Managers and Team Leads who provide support to individuals transitioning to community-based living and need assistance navigating behavioral health and wraparound services to successfully remain in the community.
  • Knowledge of the behavioral health care system and local resources
  • Ability to use clinical behavioral health expertise to advise on case consultations and continuity of care
  • Ability to lead staff with integrity, respect and professionalism.
  • Experience project scoping and self-management, including staying on top of tasks and priorities with minimal supervision
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Knowledge of healthcare regulations.
  • Demonstrate professional and effective behavior and communication with supervisors, subordinates, colleagues, and clients.
  • Knowledge of and compliance with all state and federal laws and regulations as they pertain to position, including HIPAA, scope of practice, documentation standards, ethics, etc.
  • Ability to promote the mission, vision, and values of RMHS both in the workplace and in the community.
  • Demonstrated leadership, project management, and supervision skills.
  • Knowledge of Medicaid, Medicare, and commercial insurance rules, regulations, and practices pertaining to both behavioral and physical health coverage.
  • Knowledge of quality assurance and performance management systems.
  • Demonstrated excellence in working with an interdisciplinary team and working collaboratively within and outside of departments.
  • Master’s degree in social work or a related field.
  • 3 years of experience providing direct services or intensive case management for individuals with serious and persistent mental illness and/or substance use disorders.
  • One year of supervisory or progressively responsible experience.
  • Automobile with valid driver’s license and insurance.
  • Must be willing and able to complete a background check and additional screening per state hospital protocol

Nice To Haves

  • Licensure as a mental health professional in the State of Colorado (e.g., licensed psychologist, LCSW, LPC, LMFT, LAC)
  • 5 years of experience providing direct services or intensive case management for individuals with serious and persistent mental illness and/or substance use disorders.
  • Previous behavioral health supervisory experience
  • Bilingual - Spanish

Responsibilities

  • Provides care management supervision to assigned Clinical Care Manager and Team Lead staff through developing and maintaining supportive working relationships to ensure the delivery of high-quality care management for the persons served in the programs.
  • Evaluates staff performance through weekly clinical supervision, department reports, and periodic performance evaluations, including a 90-day Competency Evaluation and the Annual Performance Review.
  • Manages performance of all direct reports which can include performance management and improvement.
  • Provides support, coaching, feedback and monitoring of Clinical Care Managers and Team Leads as needed.
  • Monitors and approves time and attendance, mileage and expense tracking consistent with Personnel Policies and Procedures.
  • Reviews and approves client spending by individual staff assigned and assists the Clinical Care Managers and Team Leads in tracking individual client spending in compliance with BHA contract and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Reviews and supports Clinical Care Managers and Team Leads with revising requests for funds including but not limited to Financial Requests and Person-Centered Planning Board requests.
  • Monitors internal timelines to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Supports communication between Community Transitions and the BHA Contract Manager regarding requests for funds, clinical decision making, or ad hoc program requests.
  • Monitors activities of Clinical Care Managers and Team Leads to ensure that services are consistent across the programs and compliant with departmental and organizational policies and procedures.
  • Provides and coordinates staff training which may include modeling and shadowing in the field as well as providing a thorough review of policies and procedures, and an overview of information systems, communication, and technical devices.
  • Participates in department workplan goals including taking responsibility for project timelines to ensure completion.
  • Assists in identifying needs for training, orientation, ongoing services and assists in the provision of training.
  • Participates in or leads department meetings including case consultations, team meetings, Community Transitions all-staff meetings and trainings.
  • In collaboration with Program Manager, interviews and assists with hiring direct reports, as needed.
  • Responsible for assignment of clients and caseload management in collaboration with the referral process within the Community Transition programs.
  • Monitors work assigned to each team member to ensure caseload equity, quality, and compliance with documentation timeframes and expectations.
  • Participates in departmental functions and other projects as assigned.
