About The Position

This role is for a Clinical Psychologist looking to make a significant impact with an underserved population in skilled nursing facilities. The work involves providing psychological care to older adults who often have high rates of mental health and cognitive needs. The position is full-time and on-site, collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team to improve residents' quality of life, prevent hospitalizations, reduce behavioral crises, and support staff. The psychologist will assess, diagnose, and treat individuals, manage a caseload, collaborate with facility staff, and complete documentation. The role emphasizes seeing the person behind the chart and providing compassionate, evidence-based care.

Requirements

  • Hold a PhD or PsyD in Clinical Psychology
  • Licensed in California
  • Medicare-eligible (assistance provided with credentialing and paneling)
  • Value evidence-based practice and clinical flexibility
  • Comfortable working with complexity and ambiguity
  • Want autonomy without isolation, and support without micromanagement
  • Curiosity, compassion, and the ability to see the person behind the chart

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in skilled nursing facilities is not required

Responsibilities

  • Assess, diagnose, and treat individuals in skilled nursing facilities
  • Provide psychological services to geriatric, disabled, and medically complex populations
  • Manage an active caseload with support from clinical manager and administrative team
  • Collaborate closely with facility staff, offering consultation, guidance, and in-services
  • Complete documentation aligned with medical necessity and Medicare standards
  • Provide care by meeting residents where they reside, in skilled nursing facilities
