About The Position
The Storefront Associate (Barista/Cashier) helps create an outstanding customer experience at 85°C Bakery Cafe by providing friendly and efficient service, assisting guests with product selection, operating the POS system, preparing beverages, and supporting bread merchandising and product presentation. Associates maintain a clean, organized, food-safe work environment; follow company policies and Health Department regulations; and work collaboratively with teammates and store leadership. The role includes cross-training in cashier, bar, bread, and cake areas, and requires arriving on time and ready for scheduled shifts. The position is based in Downtown Los Angeles and is listed as full-time/part-time, with a minimum availability of 20 hours per week. Weekend and holiday availability is preferred. The job involves frequent physical activity, including nearly continuous standing and walking, repetitive hand movements, reaching overhead, bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, and lifting or carrying up to 50 pounds. Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous retail, restaurant, or customer service experience preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

- Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to speak and understand conversational English.
- Availability to work at least 20 hours per week.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a ServSafe Food Handler Certification where required.
- Ability to perform the physical activities of the position, including lifting up to 50 pounds and standing and walking for extended periods.
