About The Position
The Bakery Associate (Storefront Associate/Barista/Cashier) supports the customer experience at 85°C Bakery Cafe by providing friendly service, assisting guests with product selection, operating the point-of-sale system, and preparing coffee, tea, and specialty beverages. The role also supports bread merchandising and product presentation, maintains a clean and food-safe work area, follows company policies and Health Department regulations, and works collaboratively with teammates and store leadership. Team members may cross-train in cashier, bar, bread, and cake areas and are expected to arrive on time for scheduled shifts. The position is based in Downtown Los Angeles, California. It requires at least 20 hours of availability per week. Full-time and part-time opportunities are listed; the job shift is any. Weekend and holiday availability is preferred. Physical duties include extended or nearly continuous standing and walking, repetitive hand movements, reaching, bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, and lifting or carrying up to 50 pounds. Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous retail, restaurant, or customer service experience preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to speak and understand conversational English.
- Availability to work at least 20 hours per week.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a ServSafe Food Handler Certification where required.
- Ability to perform the physical duties of the position, including lifting up to 50 pounds and extended standing and walking.
