Clinical Professor in Real Estate
About The Position
The Knauss School of Business at the University of San Diego is seeking a full-time Clinical Professor in Real Estate. This role focuses on teaching and service within the dynamic Real Estate program, which includes a Master of Science in Real Estate (MSRE) degree and undergraduate majors and minors. The program is supported by the Burnham-Moores Center for Real Estate (BMC), which is funded by the real estate industry and aims to educate, mentor, and facilitate career pursuits for diverse students with a global perspective. The Knauss School of Business is committed to developing socially responsible leaders through values-based education and innovative research, aiming to advance sustainable and ethical business solutions.
Requirements
- Graduate degree in a related field, or a graduate degree combined with relevant industry experience in commercial real estate.
- Demonstrated teaching effectiveness or a strong interest in teaching.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment background check.
- Official education transcripts for degree verification purposes.
Nice To Haves
- Expertise in commercial real estate, including areas such as finance and investment, market analysis, asset management, development, capital markets, or sustainability.
Responsibilities
- Teach a standard workload of 24 units annually, with courses assigned by the department chair across fall and spring semesters.
- Design, deliver, and continuously enhance high-quality courses, including developing and updating course content, syllabi, and assessments.
- Engage in ongoing professional development in pedagogy and instructional technology.
- Contribute to the academic community through participation in department meetings, committees, and task forces.
- Engage in key institutional events such as admissions events, student orientations, and commencement activities.
- Maintain appropriate AACSB faculty qualification status through sustained industry engagement and other relevant professional activities.
