This position is for a Clinical Nurse Supervisor in Oncology at Grand Valley Oncology. The role involves assisting with department management, including performance evaluations, interviewing, hiring, and counseling staff. Key responsibilities include managing timecards, schedules, and attendance for clinical staff, supporting organizational goals under the supervision of the Oncology Nursing Director, and coordinating quality improvement initiatives and National Patient Safety Goals auditing. The supervisor will also coordinate staff education and development with the Oncology Nursing Educator, potentially acting as a preceptor. Scheduling for RNs, MAs, LPNs, and Support Services is a core duty, as is investigating incident reports and addressing patient satisfaction surveys. The role includes assisting the Infusion Charge Nurse with add-on infusions and schedule management, and aiding with direct admissions to inpatient units. The supervisor will serve as a resource for instrument and equipment repair/replacement and maintain inventory of specialized clinical items. Maintaining a safe patient care environment and performing professional staff nursing functions to maintain clinical expertise are also required, with a minimum of two clinical shifts per month. Weekend/night/holiday administrative call may be required. The position requires the ability to provide care to the population served, demonstrated teaching and leadership skills, strong human relations and communication skills, the ability to remain calm in high-stress situations, and the capacity to balance clinical and management responsibilities.
