About The Position

The Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) is a registered nurse prepared as a CNS at the masters or doctoral level with clinical expertise in evidence-based nursing practice within a specialty area. The CNS treats and manages the health concerns of patients and populations and integrates knowledge of disease and medical treatments into assessment, diagnosis and treatment of illness. The CNS provides leadership for the advancement of the practice of nursing and collaborative practice with the inter-professional care team to achieve quality and cost-effective patient outcomes. Through practice in three spheres of influence: patient-client, nurses and nursing practice, and organization / system.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree
  • Completes and maintains all competencies and trainings as required for role.
  • Population-level credentialing as a CNS through the ANCC or the American Association or Critical Care Nurses Certification Corporation OR CNS license through the Pennsylvania Board of Nursing
