About The Position

Promotes transition from student to beginning practitioner role through intensive practice in a selected practice area of interest to the student. This is the final clinical course emphasizing integration and synthesis of previously acquired knowledge and skill, and application of theory and research to nursing practice. Experience developing learning contracts is required, along with demonstrated conflict resolution and oral/written communication skills.

Requirements

  • B.Sc.N. with minimum of 5 years of clinical experience.
  • Current registration as RN or NP in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO).
  • Ability to demonstrate excellent interpersonal relationships.
  • Ease in adapting to the work schedules of the student and their preceptor.
  • Demonstrated conflict resolution, oral/written communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience as a clinical instructor preferred.

Responsibilities
