About The Position

Youth Villages offers paid internship opportunities for master’s students in select residential and community-based programs. Placements are determined during the interview process based on availability, academic requirements, and the applicant’s experience. Youth Villages collaborates with interns and their academic programs to design an internship that meets practicum needs and class schedules and supports course credit. Internships also offer an opportunity to gain professional experience. The role provides hands-on clinical experience supporting children, young people, and families through Youth Villages’ mental and behavioral health programs. The intern shadows counselors during home- and community-based family sessions, carries a reduced caseload, implements interventions, and facilitates individual, group, and/or family therapy sessions. The intern uses evidence-based practices, participates in weekly meetings and clinical consultation, and completes clinical training. The schedule is flexible and non-traditional, based on the availability of youth and families served. Applicants must have a current, valid driver’s license, an automobile for work purposes, and proof of auto insurance. Community-based staff receive reimbursement for applicable mileage. The listed pay rate is $22 per hour.
