About The Position

The Co-Responders Program is a collaborative service of Claratel Behavioral Health and the local Police Department. It responds to people experiencing mental health and/or substance use crises, with the goals of providing community crisis intervention, connecting individuals to community resources, reducing hospitalizations, and reducing arrests or incarceration for people needing treatment. The Co-Responders Program Manager oversees and manages daily program operations and reports directly to the Clinical Director of Community Based Services. The manager supervises staff, fosters interagency partnerships, and supports coordinated crisis response. The role also includes providing on-site clinical assessment, crisis intervention, education, and support; coordinating follow-up services; and connecting individuals and families with resources. The program evaluates safety risks, determines whether involuntary admission is needed, and completes 1013 or 2013 paperwork as appropriate. The position works primarily in the community alongside law enforcement, including riding in a police vehicle with a CIT-trained officer to respond to crisis calls. It involves potential exposure to highly stressful and emotional situations, and requires wearing an agency-branded shirt and fitted bulletproof vest where applicable. Pre-employment drug screening may be required. The selected applicant will be subject to an FBI Criminal History Record Check and may challenge the contents of their Criminal History Record Information. The employer participates in E-Verify.
