About The Position

The George Washington University Hospital (GW Hospital) is a 395-bed tertiary care, academic medical center located in downtown Washington, DC. This position acts as an inpatient rehabilitation expert between internal and external referral sources and the inpatient rehabilitation program. The Clinical Liaison will ensure appropriate patient admissions to the inpatient rehab unit through clinical assessments and screenings in collaboration with the rehab physicians and Medical Director. The Clinical Liaison is the primary responsible party focused on moving appropriate candidates into the inpatient rehabilitation unit at the appropriate time. The Clinical Liaison works closely with hospital case management to ensure a responsive and smooth flowing referral and admission process for the inpatient rehab program.

Requirements

  • Current license to practice as PT, OT, ST, RN or other clinical field
  • Computer/keyboard skills required
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Knowledge of MicroSoft Office
  • Demonstrated public relation abilities with cooperative and assertive attitude.
  • Working knowledge of Medicare guidelines for Rehabilitation
  • Knowledge of regulations of agencies involved in program operation and resources available for use in assessing regulations and parameters of third-party reimbursement
  • Excellent assessment skills and knowledge of insurance and managed care principles and practices
  • Ability to function independently

Nice To Haves

  • 1 year of acute rehab experience preferred

Responsibilities
