About The Position

The Clinical Laboratory Manager oversees daily operations of a high-volume clinical laboratory and leads a team of laboratory supervisors, technologists, technicians, and phlebotomists. The role manages staff performance, regulatory compliance, quality assurance, customer service, and the laboratory’s clinical, operational, and financial objectives to support accurate, timely, high-quality patient testing and care.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in clinical laboratory, chemical, or biological science.
Successful completion of a Clinical Laboratory training program.
Current license as a Supervisor in the specialty or specialties by the laboratory section in the State of Florida.
ASCP certification (MLS, MT, or equivalent).
At least 5 years of clinical laboratory experience.
At least 1 year of supervisory experience.
Strong knowledge of laboratory regulations, quality systems, and accreditation standards.
Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Experience in a high-volume reference laboratory.

Responsibilities

Manage the day-to-day operations of a high-volume clinical laboratory.
Lead, develop, and mentor laboratory supervisors, technologists, technicians, and phlebotomists.
Ensure compliance with CLIA, CAP, OSHA, HIPAA, and other regulatory requirements.
Monitor quality control, proficiency testing, and quality assurance programs.
Develop and implement policies, procedures, and best practices.
Oversee staffing, scheduling, productivity, and performance management.
Collaborate with physicians, healthcare providers, and clients to ensure exceptional service.
Manage laboratory budgets, inventory, and operational expenses.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and service quality.
Support recruitment, onboarding, and retention of laboratory personnel.
