About The Position
The Clinical Laboratory Assistant works under the general supervision of the laboratory section manager in support of Clinical Laboratory Scientists/Medical Technologists and Technicians. The role performs duties in technical areas of the laboratory, including specimen handling, inventory, maintenance, and other assigned tasks.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED; associate-level education is also listed.
- Formal phlebotomy or Medical Assistant training is required; annual recertification is not required.
Nice To Haves
- One year of experience in phlebotomy/EKG is preferred.
- PBT (ASCP) certification is highly desirable.
Responsibilities
- Support Clinical Laboratory Scientists/Medical Technologists and Technicians.
- Perform laboratory technical-area duties, including specimen handling, inventory, and maintenance.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
