This position is for an Open Rank, Clinical Faculty Appointment in Melanoma Medical Oncology. The role involves providing clinical expertise in patient care management and teaching fellows, residents, and students. The faculty member will primarily serve as an attending physician in both outpatient and inpatient settings, acting as a primary physician responsible for patient history, physical examinations, and all aspects of primary patient care, including cardiac resuscitation. The position requires practicing clinical medicine to high standards, performing invasive procedures as dictated by the subspecialty, and developing a clinical practice for referred patients. Responsibilities include staffing outpatient clinics and inpatient services, reviewing and approving charge documents, completing patient documentation, corresponding with physicians, attending continuing education, requesting consultations, serving as a role model, conducting peer reviews, and working effectively in a team environment. Research activities include developing research programs, participating in clinical trials, and identifying funding sources. Administrative duties involve participating in best practice initiatives and serving on institutional committees. Educational responsibilities include providing an integrated educational program in cancer medicine and participating in teaching conferences.
