About The Position

The Open Rank position will provide clinical expertise in patient care and an appropriate teaching environment for fellows, residents and students in the specialty of Surgical Oncology. This highly specialized surgeon will use computer-assisted robotic platforms to perform precise, minimally invasive operations to diagnose, stage, and remove gastrointestinal tumors. The role involves integrating research and programmatic efforts into an existing and robust gastrointestinal surgery program. This position is part of a strategic departmental initiative to establish a competitive robotic platform within a major freestanding cancer center, aiming for a minimally invasive and nationally renowned presence. The open rank professor will contribute to a robust gastrointestinal surgery program.

Requirements

Doctorate-level degree in a field appropriate to the Faculty role and Department mission.
Licensed to practice in the State of Texas.
Board certified (or obtained within departmental timeline), unless exempted.
Five years post clinical degree with any combination of time as a clinician, clinical scientist, or GME trainee.
Ability to satisfy and maintain all requirements necessary to ensure the continued security and integrity of critical infrastructure.
