About The Position

Southwoods Health is seeking a Clinical Education Specialist / EHR Trainer to lead the training, support, and optimization of our clinical applications, including the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system. In this role, you will ensure that all staff and physicians are highly proficient in clinical workflows, regulatory compliance, and system utilization to deliver exceptional patient care across our network.

Requirements

• 3–5 years in clinical healthcare
• 1–3 years of EHR experience (Meditech preferred)
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, web browsers, and basic project management.
• Exceptional communication, critical thinking, and the ability to manage timelines in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field and/or an active Ohio RN license preferred.
• 1–3 years of classroom teaching or clinical precepting experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Create and deliver comprehensive training plans (SOPs, videos, manuals) for new and existing staff using diverse teaching methods.
• Facilitate EHR customization (templates, favorites, preferences) and manage enrollment for essential clinical tools like Imprivata, Dr.First, and Dragon.
• Maintain consistent clinical workflows across acute, ambulatory, and home care settings to ensure a unified medical record.
• Develop education for quality improvement initiatives while ensuring all workflows adhere to TJC and CMS standards.
• Use surveys, clinical scorecards, and regular floor rounding to evaluate training effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
• Conduct application testing during system updates and develop corresponding training materials.
• Partner with operational teams to ensure a smooth transition for new hires into independent clinical practice.
