About The Position
This position focuses on planning and delivering complete nutrition care services for consumers at Danville State Hospital. Through your work, you will help to ensure that nutrition programs meet individual needs and are in alignment with professional standards.
Requirements
- Active certification as a Registered Dietitian (RD) or a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) as issued by the Commission on Dietetic Registration of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, or proof of eligibility for such certification.
- Meet the PA residency requirement.
- Able to perform essential job functions.
- Satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
Responsibilities
- Plan and organize nutrition assessments, counseling, diet education, and discharge planning
- Prepare and revise modified diets and monitor consumer acceptance of menu items
- Attend meetings and recommend nutrition interventions that support consumer health
- Maintain records, update policies, and assist with computer program meal tracking
- Provide direction to food service staff involved in nutrition care tasks
- Complete continuing education and follow current standards for nutrition practice
