About The Position

This position involves clinical coordination for the Practicum: Care of Adults Experiencing Illness course (NSG 3305) during the Fall 2026 semester. The course focuses on the clinical practice of caring for adults with acute and chronic illnesses, throughout the care continuum and across various settings, including simulation and healthcare facilities. The number of students per group can range from 6 to 8. The coordination period is from September 1 to December 31, 2026, with a schedule that varies according to course requirements. Requirements

  • B.Sc.N. with recent clinical experience in medical/surgical nursing.
  • Current registration as RN in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO).
  • Ability to demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Conflict resolution skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Must not be teaching the same course during the same semester as coordinating.
  • Must be in good standing with the site where clinical teaching is to occur.
  • Must successfully complete all mandatory legislated training.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience as a clinical instructor preferred.
  • Certain clinical partners require work experience on their units in order to work as a Clinical Instructor.

Responsibilities

  • Clinical coordination for the Practicum: Care of Adults Experiencing Illness course (NSG 3305).
  • Overseeing clinical practice focused on care of adults experiencing acute and chronic illnesses.
  • Managing students across the care continuum and in various settings (simulation and health care).
  • Developing learning contracts.
  • Demonstrating conflict resolution skills.

  • Ensuring students are in good standing with clinical partners.
  • Adhering to requirements of individual hospitals/worksites.
